The institute undertakes scientific research of a) important projects of key research bases supported by the Ministry of Education, b) national social sciences foundation projects including key projects, general projects and youth projects, c) the humanities and social science foundation projects supported by the Ministry of Education including Doctor of Arts foundation projects, planning foundation projects and youth foundation projects, and d)the humanities and social science foundation projects of Beijing Municipality including key projects, general projects and annual projects. It also provide organizational, technical and financial support to the application of relevant political research projects.
The institute strives to generate important research achievements by conducting major political research projects, develop applied research in concert with basic research, and establish a knowledge innovation mechanism in an effort to be in the lead in political research, enjoy academic reputation internationally in the same research field, and be a Key Political Research Base worthy of the name.
The institute will also undertake applied research projects of various social entities, and provide consulting service for governments at various levels, business community and other social circles to develop into a well-known ¡°think tank¡± and policy consulting base of the country.
